Why a Spring Clean? There is overwhelming evidence showing that a tidy environment creates a proud and stronger community. Rotary & Rotaract can play a very simple role in strengthening our communities. Our Spring Clean event is to assist Girlguiding Surrey East with a working party to create an improved parking area for their holiday home.

The working day is from 10 am to 4 pm.  You can support the event for part or all of the day. Please confirm whether you can make this event. 

We need to finish painting the hut and continue to clear the areas for parking. We need to clear overgrown brambles, hedges and bracken. We are asking people to bring spades, cutting tools and other useful equipment to chop and dig. We'll provide as many tools as we can, as well as plenty of paint and brushes. Refreshments will be provided.

The first working day of the year when Surrey East will be supported by Woking Rotaract. Details to follow.

I suspect it is recommended to bring a packed lunch.  Remember to bring any secateurs and gloves you have with you.

  Update: Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available and soup at lunch time. Suggest you also bring sandwiches.
  It would be helpful if people would come with gardening gloves and cutting tools. Other tools will be provided.
  Jobs include:
  Proofing shed
  Making shelves in shed
  Proofing the rest of the hut
  Clearing the land for better car parking
  Checking tentage
  Checking boundary and repairs to fencing
  Etc
  Val is in charge on the day.

  Apologies cannot car pool as David and I are heading to Dorking afterwards. See you tomorrow. I have been told there is plenty for us to all help with indoors if the weather is bad, Bring a change of clothes for afterwards as we may be painting!
